« Scott Reiniger is an Afghan prince | Main | MY OCTOBER SYMPHONY »
The trailer for Fahrenheit 9/11 is online. I had been wrestling my expectations downward, especially following his receipt of the freaking Palme d'or, but this shit looks pretty good. I love the look on Joe Congressman's face when Moore asks him to send his children to fight in Iraq, and I'm especially fond of Bush's cheerful and smug on-camera declaration that he's the candidate for the wealthy. More like this, please why do Michael Moore and Al Franken, of all people, carry the mantle of the loyal opposition to the ruling party, at least as far as the ability of their voices to carry into the mass-media discourse?
Meanwhile, who knew Tarkovsky was an inveterate Polaroid-taker? The Guardian has some of the pictures.

Dunno--do they provide easier targets for the right? I'm not sure they're any more shrill or self-congratulatory than any other critics of the prevailing conservativism, but they do seem to make nice lightning rods, don't they? Here's hoping F9/11 kicks ass, cuz you know it (and Moore in particular) will get knocked from pillar to post by almost every mainstream commentator.
