DVD: Criterion's New Year Resolutions
Talk about quality control: Clouzot's Le Corbeau is just part of an astounding DVD line-up forthcoming from Criterion. In the first two months of 2004, we're scheduled to get not just the Clouzot film, but also Pickup on South Street, Ikiru, Bresson's Diary of a Country Priest and Rules of the freakin' Game. Sweet Christ!

I had to delete the next comment in this thread by "Fag Fi" (it was a little over the top and I don't want to encourage people to come in here screaming about asshole-licking), but suffice it to say that somebody thinks these are pussy movies and would rather see Double Indemnity, Out of the Past, etc. My response? Double Indemnity was already released on DVD, and Out of the Past got a pretty good laserdisc about 10 years ago, so I'm personally set on both those counts. But I don't have a decent copy of the Sam Fuller.
Dude had a problem with the Bresson, too, which he's welcome to articulate here if he can overcome his bizarre sexual hang-ups.
