It's a sad day for all of us, re: Mike. Perhaps he's cribbing some of your notes for inspiration on his upcoming feature work...?
Posted by patrick at April 26, 2024 03:46 AMWhy do you think PRIVATE PARTS is still so popular?
Posted by Steve at April 26, 2024 06:36 PMI think Private Parts must have benefitted from the recent dust-up over Howard's "banned by the FCC" campaign.
OK, scratch that. I just checked the logs, and it looks like that review gets a lot of hits after people run a Google image search for "private parts." No kidding.
Double-checking the stats, I see that "private parts" ranks number three among Internet search strings that lead people to my site. (Curiously, "don't look now" doesn't even rank in the top 20.) Here's the top 10 list.
10) texas chain saw
9) resident evil
8) shaolin soccer
7) the rundown
6) breaking the waves
5) kill bill
4) battle royale
3) private parts
2) texas chain saw massacre
And, of course, ...
1) nipples.
Hi, Patrick! I wouldn't presume to know what Mike's reading for inspiration these days, but it's a lot more likely to be David Foster Wallace, I'd guess. He does seem to have an ongoing gig at Esquire, so one must keep one's eyes open for his stuff.
Nipples. Tee hee.
-bf-
Well, giving credit where credit's due, them's some fiiiine nipples, bf. As in, blowing Janet outta the water fiiiiine.
