So it’s like a John Carpenter movie, but without the eccentric cast of characters, the deliberate editorial pacing, the unerring eye for widescreen composition, or the subversive political agenda. But wisecracks? It has ’em. Though Maggie Grace is no Adrienne Barbeau, Carpenter would probably like her. And Guy Pearce is, at least, a credible Kurt Russell variant. Not bad.
